Around the time that I decided it was a good idea for me to learn how to be a clothing designer, I read somewhere that we can grow into the role of anything we wish to be.
And thank goodness. When I met our pattern maker, who had formerly worked for Tom Ford Gucci, I had no idea that she was also interviewing me. Sometimes it’s better to not know what you’re up against, or how hard life can be.
In fact, I’m thankful I didn’t know what the future held, if I had known that I would have a year like I’ve had, I would not have thought I could endure it.
But, I have.
Throughout the process, of starting Ocean SF, I’ve constantly reminded myself of this advice. And every day, I become more and more aware of how this is the only way to grow in life. And I’m confident that I can grow into this, designing clothing, or anything else I would like to do.
I’ve watched myself do it. And there is nothing like doing to make yourself a believer.
