The Newport Boat Show, in Newport Beach was an obvious choice for my first show because my best friend from college lives on nearby Balboa Island and my daughter Paris goes to college in Los Angeles, so nothing could be more fun and ultimately more successful than combining so many things that I love at once.
I have been working very hard to get my samples ready, my new website up, and my marketing materials done. Everything came together at the eleventh hour as it often does. After so much hard work, by many different people, I packed up my samples and trade show materials and left for Newport. It was a long drive, but my journey had begun long before.
The trip gave me time to reflect on the past three years since the idea of Ocean SF was born. At the time, I could never have imagined the twists and turns my life would take, or that it was possible to experience so much change. It’s better to not know, because if I had known I would have been too terrified to proceed, but Ocean SF gave me something to put my energy into when everything else was falling apart. It gave me something to dream about and acted like a lighthouse on a dark and stormy night.
Now, I am here, sitting in the living room of my beautiful friend Debra with the early morning light streaming in. My coffee sits beside me as I write filling the air with the rich smell of espresso. The day lays before me like a jewel.
Love and blessings to all.
