There has never been a better time to learn new things than SIP, although anytime is a good time to increase knowledge and wisdom. Below are the books I am reading right now.

As many of you know I love to read and consistently read several books consecutively. I also have a good deal of books on Kindle, but these are my hard cover books.
The two leadership books are from my UC Berkeley leadership class and they are both great. Especially, A Leaders Legacy, which motivates you to stop and think about the legacy you are building in your own life. What will be your legacy? The second, Primal Leadership is about emotional intelligence and a must read for anyone leading teams right now if you are not throughly familiar with the topic.
I especially loved Kinship With All Life which perfectly mirrors my relationship with my thirteen year old dog Polly. This book written in 1954 is as relevant today as when it was written. It is about communication with animals. I have always just talked to Polly, simply asking her to get in the car or do whatever I needed her to do. She understands me perfectly. Now that she is nearing the end of her life I talk to her even more.
My daughter and I are reading American Nations together in an attempt to understand why we have such a deep divide in our country. This book outlines in fascinating detail American politics and the regional causes that are at the root of the conflicts we face. A must read for the pre-election. politically minded.
As we navigate the BLM issue, How Good People Fight Bias is a must read. This book covers how to battle bias, champion diversity, and advocate for those who lack power. It was very eye opening in defining how bias works and how our silence speaks volumes.
